The world is the classroom.
Speaking, teaching, and briefing are connected forms of the Institute’s public practice. Hakawati Briefings are interdisciplinary learning experiences built around place, systems, and observation. They combine political science, history, geography, technology, ecology, and civic interpretation.
Executive Briefings
Focused. Interdisciplinary. Reusable.
A focused presentation and discussion of a defined issue. Example: a higher-education briefing that explains the policy context, identifies the institutions involved, and frames questions for the audience.
Field Seminars
Learn through the landscape.
A guided inquiry into a place, using observation and supporting material. Explore the Space Corridor briefing for an example of how infrastructure, ecology, and history connect. Additional field experiences are in development.
Speaking & Shared Learning
Built around the audience.
A public talk, guest lecture, or facilitated working session organized around an audience’s questions. Example: political interpretation through film, followed by discussion; or a faculty workshop that develops a practical course workflow.

The briefing is not a tour script. It is a structured inquiry that follows the evidence, changes altitude, and connects systems.
Event fee
One engagement. One agreed fee.
Company seminars and larger group events start at $2,500 per engagement. The fixed fee covers the agreed preparation, live delivery, and materials. Session length is part of the scope: a one-hour talk and a two-hour working seminar require different commitments. Longer formats and substantial custom preparation are priced above the minimum, with one complete fee agreed before booking.
